Moving to a new town can be an overwhelming experience for many people as they struggle to find the local post office, a new dentist, or finding community sports programs for their children. The Hello! Company is working to ease the transition by welcoming newcomers and providing them with the information they need to live in their new neighborhood.
“Our mission is to help families that move, to connect them with the community and the better businesses that provide service to their new community,” says Laura Breitel, a 30-year veteran of the Welcoming business and President of The Hello! Company.
Most people are surprised when I show up at their door delivering the packet of information and pleased when they discover that our services are Free and without Obligation. We include the important information pertaining to the community like: “Important Phone Numbers,” “Farmer’s Market” schedule, DMV forms, “50 Fun Things to Do in San Diego,” letters from their local public officials and introductory offers and gift cards from some of the finest businesses in San Diego.
Breitel first started her welcoming career in Feb., 1979 as a representative of Welcome Wagon. In 1989, she was promoted to Southern California Field Manager for the nationwide greeting company. In 1995, when Welcome Wagon was sold to New Jersey based Cendant Corp. and they stopped making home calls, she decided it was time to start her own local San Diego company.
The Hello! Company celebrated its 14th anniversary on July 27, 2009. Above all, we’ve maintained a personal touch by going to the door, and whenever possible, talking to the newcomer face-to-face.
